‘Modern Vintage in Brilliant Hues’ – Patricia & Filippo

July 12th, 2010

This mood board was created with Patricia and Filippo’s modern take on vintage in mind. Playfully casual and clever, inspiration was drawn from the couple’s own vivid palette of brilliant blue, orange and red, as well as their self confessed love for their home, Melbourne.

With visiting overseas guests in mind, one finds unexpected ways to showcase this wondrous city from an insider’s perspective, whether it be a keepsake poster print, destination guide or a map illustrating the couple’s love affair with their city.

Aesthetic inspiration is drawn from the vintage posters of the couple’s chosen reception venue Church St. Enoteca, as well as the TWA travel posters of famed American artist David Klein.
With clean use of vintage typography, playful application and inclusions, and other memorable touches such as vintage stamps etc the intended solution is a modern spin on classic vintage.

‘Vivid with Earthy Undertones’ – Michelle & John

July 12th, 2010

This mood board was created with Michelle and John’s contemporary design aesthetic in mind. Elegantly casual and clever, inspiration was drawn from artworks from around the world, including Japan where Michelle and John became engaged. Included is an Aboriginal dot painting from the couples own home as well as a striking piece from Australian artist Paul Davies.

His work inspired this colour palette, marrying the lush greens from the couple’s wedding venue, Zentvelds Coffee Plantation, with uplifting lime and yellows symbolic of Byron Bay’s brilliantly bright personality. These gorgeous hues are softened by earthy tones and natural paper stocks.

These invitation references incorporate intricate geometric pattern work and paper folding, utilising unique printing processes using cost effective paper stocks.
